New Reveal : 2010 Jaguar XJ

*Introduction:
For decades, Jaguar kept the design of its flagship sedan, the XJ, always in the classic theme. However now, with Jaguar's latest 2010 XK and 2010 XF, Jag has a light on completely modern designs. While the design of the XJ has remained classic, Jaguars has changed it all of 2010.
*Front Design:
Well here it is, the 2010 Jaguar XJ. First off, the design. Up-front, the all-new XJ's front grill and front-sills have lots of inspiration from its XF sibling. However, the headlights closely mimic the front end of 2007 C-XF concept. (The showcar that presaged the XF yet was actually designed after the production car was already signed-off upon). Look closely though, as one of the Motor Gears team pointed out (thanks Badr!), and some design cues of the Maserati Quattroporte in-front look very apparent.
*Profile Design:
In profile, the new XJ has a stretch-out but very settle look; with a very thin A-pillar line. Also, the new sheet-metal gets wider wheel-arches, and notable muscular-lines going towards the back.
*Rear Design:
Outback, the 2010 Jaguar XJ gets very dramatic. Special design cue is the darkened-out C-pillar, that gives the XJ's rear-window a wide look. Then we have to talk about the new taillights. The new XJ gets a very distinctive taillights, that have a 3-bar LED backlit. Also, it looks like the swoopy design of the trunk-lid come in-harmony with the rear-end of the XJ.
*Technicalities Of XJ's New Design:
Overall shape of the new XJ is very successful. Nonetheless, the new cool and very modern design of the Jag's new XJ is very technical. The sheet-metal is made out-of a combination of magnesium and aluminum. Therefore, the new XJ weighs slightly less than the smaller XF and be at least 150 kilograms lighter than its chief competitors; from BMW 7-Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Audi A8. Kudos to Jaguar too, on making the new XJ one of the most drag-coefficient designs, with only a .29 cD. That makes the new 2010 XJ the most aerodynamic Jaguar ever built!
*Interior; Dashboard:
To our favorite part about the XJ, the interior. Inside, the rounded shape dashboard in the XJ, is a festival of technology, backlit in a cool phosphor blue. The XJ's inteior is also more practical than the amazing interior in the XF. While it gets the same touch-sensored reading lights and glovebox, JaguarDrive gear selector, as well as Jaguar's touch-screen system; but Jaguar as improved all of that. The touch-sensors have been re-calibrated for better sensitivity, JaguarDrive get better locking selecting gears, and the touch-screen computer system gets a bigger 12.3 TFT screen, and a lot faster software. Jaguar also done a great job with the new panoramic roof, illuminated air-vents, the new 3-spoke steering wheel, and the rounded wood-accents up-front.
*Interior; Rear-Seats And Features:
The back seats also get more special treat. The rear-seats feature a Jaguar-signed head-rests, individual wooden tables with individual screens, and of course, lots and lots of leather around. Also, the XJ is the first-ever production car to have an astonishing 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkens 7.1 channel surround system. So this is not anymore bland; this has become one of the best interiors among the luxury-car segment.*Engines And Performance:
Jaguar is putting all its engines fleet in the all-new XJ. The start is at a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 diesel, which will be unique for the European market. Worldwide XJs will first come as basic, in a 385 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8. Middle-level XJ will come with a supercharged 5.0L V8, with 470 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque, and which should get to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Top engine in the XJ, is a re-worked supercharged 5.0L V8, packing 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque, which launches to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. All XJs are connected to a 6-speed ZF automatic, through rear-wheel-drive, and will have a limited top-speed of 155 mph. Later on, Jaguar is expected to release a mighty XJR.*Suspension And Handling:
Given that this car figures to weigh as much as the XFR, expect similar handling performance, especially considering it gets the same electronically governed rear differential, Jag's Adaptive Dynamics system and the three-mode JaguarDrive Control with Normal, Dynamic and Winter setups. The latter governs everything from throttle mapping and shift points to the aforementioned differential, stability control thresholds, suspension firmness (coil springs up front, air out back) and even seatbelt tightness. Jaguar claim that the new XJ actually has the sportiest handling characteristics among its luxury rivals from 7-Series, S-Class, and A8.*Prices And Summary:
Incidentally, the XJ will be available from launch in both standard and extended-wheelbase forms, with the latter receiving a further 5-inches of legroom. Prices will start at $72,500 for the XJ and $79,500 for the XJL with the naturally aspirated V8. The 470-hp 2010 XJ Supercharged and the XJL Supercharged will carry a price tag of 87,500 and $90,500, respectively. The top-of-the-line 5.0L XJ and XJL Supersport will start at a $112,000 and $115,000 MSRP, respectively. Deliveries will start beginning of 2010. Though we have to say, we are pretty excited about this Jag. Because not only have Jaguar up-scaled the new XJ, it's actually have gone really better.

Lastly, the video below is the press release of the 2010 Jaguar XJ. Surprisingly, the host for unveiling the new XJ, was the talk-show host, Jay Leno. It's funny to watch, and very informative.

New Reveal : 2010 Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special

This July, Britain hold the 2009 Goodwood Festival Of Speed; which is a basically a big festival joining all the new fast cars, from roadcars, rally racers, and F1 cars. Nonetheless, Jaguar found the right place to release a new cat! The 2010 Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special. This XKR Goodwood Special is based on the new 2010 Jaguar XKR. That means the XKR Goodwood Special gets a supercharged 5.0L V8. However, of this special edition, Jaguar tweaked the exhaust system, so new output is 530 hp, and 516 lb-ft of torque. With added power, and a new lower-suspension setup from the standard XKR, the XKR Goodwood Special will launch to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.Outside, XKR Goodwood Special features a killer-lime-green with "XKR" graphics in gray and orange on the side skirts and the hood. Other styling tweaks that differentiate this model over the standard 2010 XKR facelift include; the darkened-out 21-inch wheels and the satin graphite detailing to the front grilles, door mirrors, rear signature blade, side window surrounds, headlights and bonnet louvres.Although this one-off performance special-edition model was purposely built for the event, Jaguar announced that if customers showed interest in the XKR Goodwood Special, it may launch a limited run series in the near future.

Teaser + Spy Shots : 2010 Jaguar XJ

Jaguar's biggest cat, the XJ, has been in the same design for over ten years now. So it's really time to change, specially that the Jaguar XF has caught people's eyes. Well, Jaguar announced through a teaser video, that the all-new XJ, will be fully presented on June 9th.However, it's also just about time to see it in the streets wearing camouflage for final testing. This spy shot was caught by KGP Photography. The new Jaguar XJ seems to be a lot more sportier, sleeker, and more modern than the current XJ. A lot of its design cues are inspired by the XF. This prototype is sporting a split-kidney grille that's common at BMW, just to hide its true identity. Engine options come starting as a V6, V8, and ending with a supercharged V8 with 510 hp. So the new XJ won't be that classical British luxury sedan. This is now a sporty rival to the BMW 7-Series.

We'll keep up-to-date when the debut of the new XJ comes. For now, watch the teaser video below.

RumorMill : 2011 Jaguar XE, Jaguar's new 911 Fighter

Jaguar XE Rendering From Motor Trend

New details and information have emerged about Jaguar's mysterious XE, a car that hits on Porsche's 911, which is the best everyday sportscar available on market. So in other words, Tata, the Indian company which owns Jaguar and Land Rover, is going head-to-head with the German engineers.

However, some would ask, isn't the XK already a 911 rival? Well, it's not that simple. Whereas the XK is sorted to be a long-distance cruiser with compliant suspension, the rumored XE is a hard savage sportscar.

The XE should be larger than the XF, which is based on the XK, and could be the successor to the long-cancelled Jaguar F-Type project. Let's not forget, technology has been improved since the F-Type project.

The XE will be powered by a 5.0L AJ-V8 with 385hp, and supercharged version with 510hp. 0-60 mph time for the supercharged engine should be around 4.0 seconds. Nevertheless, the XE will be the first sports Jag to kick in a 3.0L diesel, with 272hp, and 442 ft-lb of torque. With that engine, Jaguar would be seeking a best of both world's scenario, delivering 35 mpg and a 0-60mph time of under six seconds.

Look for the Jaguar XE to come in around $80- to $90,000, and becoming direct competition to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and the Porsche 911. The new Jaguar XE should honor the 50th birthday of the Jag E-Type with an introduction at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

New Reveal At Detroit: Jaguar XFR fastest Jag ever to run at the Bonneville Salt Flats

Jaguar revealed the XFR over the weekend at the Detroit Auto Show. Now Jaguar announced that the XFR is the fastest Jaguar ever, and that it could achieve 225 mph. Not the stock car though!

This record run was done at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah where an XFR prototype recorded a stunning top speed of 225.675mph (363.188km/h). It is even faster than the XJ220, which managed 217.1mph (349.4 km/h) in 1992.

XFR prototype is powered by the all-new supercharged 5.0L engine, that has 510hp. Don’t get confused by the look of this record breaking XFR, as these aerodynamic modifications were done to meet the safety requirements. Engineers played around with the ECU, air intakes, exhaust system, and supercharger settings. These changes boosted the power to around 600 hp. The transmission and the tires were stock. So it just shows what the engine and the gearbox are really capable of. Though it would be interesting to know what would have been the top speed if the engine had been left 100 % stock.

Here's the video of the 225mph run.

New Reveal At Detroit: 2010 Jaguar XK

With the excitement of the new Jag XFR, the 2010 Jaguar XK has been unveiled and the new generation of the XK Coupe and Convertible get revised exterior styling and performance upgrades.Just like the XFR, the XK gets a new heart. Both, the 2010 XK Portfolio and the Supercharged XKR are powered by the all-new 5.0L V8 engine. The engine delivers a significant power increase while keeping fuel-efficiency at the level of the current XK models. The engine allows for 385hp with a maximum torque of 380lb-ft on the XK Portfolio allowing it to go from 0 to 60mph in 5.2 seconds. The XKR gets a supercharged version of the that engine, which produces a total of 510hp and a peak torque of 461lb-ft. The 0 to 60mph sprint on the XKR comes in just 4.6 seconds. Both models have an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph.The XK Portfolio and the XKR transfer all that power to the rear-wheels via Jaguar’s 6-speed ZF transmission with wheel-mounted paddles or full automatic mode via the JaguarDrive SelectorTM.Styling revisions on the 2010 Jaguar XK Portfolio and the 2010 XKR include a new front bumper, new side mirrors with integrated LED side repeater, rear bumper spoiler, rear LED lights and color-coded side power vents for both coupe and convertible versions. The 19-inch 10-V-Spoke Caravela wheels are now standard on the XK Portfolio while the 19-inch 10-spoke Tamana wheels are now standard on the XKR. 20-inch wheels are available as options on both models. As for the interior, there are some minor enhancements. The traditional gear-stick has been replaced by the JaguarDrive "pop-up" gear selector. A 7-inch navigation and multimedia tocuhscreen comes standard on all models. There won't be any changes for prices. Which means, the new XK Portfolio and XKR will come head-to-head with BMW's 6-series and M6, Mecedes SL-Class and SL63 AMG.

New Reveal : 2010 Jaguar XFR

Since the Jag XF was out, rumors, speculation and spy shots of a R version twinkled. However, it is all over, because Jaguar have finally said its word. They have just revealed official photographs and information of Jaguar's long-awaited XFR sports sedan that is due to make its worldwide debut at this week's Detroit Auto Show.Because this is a racing-special sports version that competes with BMW M5, Audi RS6 and Mercedes E63 AMG, we start off with the engine. The standard XF has a 4.2L V8. This XFR has an all-new supercharged 5.0L V8 with 510hp and 461lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled to the rear-wheels via an enhanced version of Jaguar's electronically controlled, six-speed automatic transmission.
With more power, and a better gearbox, the new XFR hits 60mph in 4.7 seconds, runs the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds, and reaches to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. However, with all supercharged engines, accelerating in mid-range speed is astonishingly quick. The XFR accelerates from 50-70mph in just 1.9 seconds!
Along with that amazing engine, Jag's engineers worked on making this beauty handle. So the new XFR is enhanced with a Active Differential Control and Adaptive Dynamics. The electronically controlled differential and suspension system work together to optimize traction under acceleration and cornering. The XFR also adds a faster steering ratio and uses larger ventilated disc brakes.
Moving on to the car's design, while recognizable as a performance version of the XF, Jaguar's designers avoided embellishing the model with an exaggerated bodykit and flashiness. The result is a car that balances between sporty and sleek. Compared to the standard XF, the new XFR gains a revised snout with a larger lower grille with black-finished mesh, plus chrome outboard air intakes. The upper mesh grille retains XF's bright finish, while the bonnet carries distinctive louvres, similar to those found on the XKR sports car. The XFR also features new sill extensions, while the rear bumper adds a unique body-coloured lower valance panel incorporating the 'R' signature of four large, bright-finished tail pipes. The new bootlid lip spoiler, the redesigned exterior mirrors with LED side repeaters and the 20-inch Nevis alloy wheels complete the changes.
As for the interior, it still remains amazing with the "pop-up" gear selector and rotating air-vents. The only change from the standard XF are a new 18x14-way adjustable sports seats embossed with the 'R' logo, and the speedometer and the tachometer gained red dial pointers and carry-out the 'Supercharged' word.

Look for the XFR at the Detroit Auto Show next Sunday.

SPY SHOTS : 2010 Jaguar XF-R spotted in red

These are the latest spy shots of the Jaguar XF-R, the sporty version of the XF. And looks like Jaguar is giving the car its final touch as it has very little camouflage. We can clearly see that the car gets hood air vents, changed grille, larger air intakes and quad exhaust pipes.
Power will very likely come from an all-new supercharged 5.0L V8 that makes around 500hp. This should be enough to take on the BMW M5, AMG E63 and Audi RS6. Jaguar should be introducing XF-R very soon on a major auto show.

Report : Jaguar-Land Rover in secret aid talks with UK Government

According to Automotive News Europe, Jaguar-Land Rover CEO David Smith is secretly in talks with UK's Prime Minister Gordon Brown for a government financial aid. That's because, after the 19.4% sales decrease in August, Jaguar-Land Rover have lost £1 billion ($1.49 billion). And Tata Motor Company, which owns Jaguar-Land Rover isn't in the best condition to support Jaguar-Land Rover. So it seems that the British government will be covering Jaguar-Land Rover's loss.

2008 Paris Auto Show : Day 2

It's a new day for the Paris Auto Show . And alot of new cars , so lets get cracking .

Starting with the CONCEPTS :
- Mercedes-Benz ConceptFASCINATION : Ever anyone wondered that a Merc E-Class estate would ever look beautiful ? Well wonder no more , this Mercedes-Benz ConceptFASCINATION is the next generation E-Class estate . And at glance , you have to say , it looks gorgeous . What stands for me most , are the low door-sills , so the upper car looks like its only made of glass . But if you think the outside looks great , wait until you see the interior . They've used real stained wood . And instead of using plastic for some parts , they went of for metal . Now if the production model if this car comes out like that , BMW and Audi should start working from now .

- Peugeot Prologue HYmotion4 diesel hybrid Concept : Peugeot is known for making small economical hatchbacks . A this new concept/pre-production model will surely be a success for 2 simple reasons . First , it looks great inside and out . Second , it's extremely economical . It's the first of kind , diesel-hybrid . So it manages 60 MPG . Production should start in 2009 .

- Audi A4 TDI Concept e : While the small Peugeot above does 60 MPG in diesel-hybrid forum . The Germans seem to be cleverer . With clean-diesel TDI technology , this mid-size luxury sedan does 59MPG . And 214 lb-ft , you'll be going fast . Although they're calling it a concept , but production will be starting end of 2008 .

- Peugeot RC HYmotion4 Concept : Automakers these days are going with the trend of 4-door coupes . Look at Aston Martin's Rapid , Porsche Panamera and Lambo's Estoque . And now Peugeot . But wheres the British , German and Italian aim their cars towards performance . The French are aiming it towards design , fuel economy and supercar performance . First , this Peugeot isn't like anything I ever saw . It looks fabulous . And because it's a hybrid , it gets 52MPG . And somehow it weighs only 3,100 pounds . So because it's so light , 60MPH in 4 seconds ! No word if this perfect car will be produced or not .

Now to PRODCUTION cars :

* Aston Martin One-77 : We saw this yesterday , but we only saw the front-end . Today we see the back-end . Lets see if this 2,000,000 $ hypercar will debut at the end of the Paris Auto Show .

* 2008 Jaguar XKR-S : Remember the legandry Jag XJ-220 ? That was the fastest Jag ever built . Well now , here comes the successor . It's a XKR with Spotier suspension . With 420 hp , and 175MPH top speed , this is the biggest competitor to its cousin , the Aston Martin V8 Vantage . Anyways , this car will only be sold in Europe . So no fun Jag here .

* 2009 Volvo XC60 : Volvo is know for very safe boring cars . But this is their most exciting car yet . When they showed it they said "It comes from Sweden with LUV" . Just by hearing that , you know that this car isn't like any Volvo . And with its low roof-line , it shows that this competes with the BMW X6 . That's very cool . And we'll be seeing if it can beat the X6 when it rolls the steets next March .

* 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback : The all-new Lance Ralliart is such a success here . It's cheap , practical and has the same engine as its bigger brother , the EVO X . But it seems the Europeans like it more roundred . That's why there's this new Sportback edition for Europe . It's the same as a normal Ralliart just turned in as a hatchback .

* 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 S Roadster : This SLR was revealed last week , but here on the show , people are seeing it live . And it looks superb . The long hood , holding 650hp . Then you'll notice that when this is a convertible , that the hatchback roof on the hardtop is gone . Honsetly , this is the great combination of beauty and aggresion . A soft roader when it's sunny , a godfather of violence when reaches 208MPH .

* 2009 Kia Soul : By reading the name , you'll know that Kia are trying too hard to give their cars passion . And although I think that's a stupid name , but looking at it is not so bad . It looks very funky and urban . Even the red color is great on it . Somehow , it's very likeable . Finally , a Korean car with flair and charecter , which is something getting very hard for most automakers .

* 2009 Ford Focus RS : 300 Hp and 325ft-lb of torque , all going to front-wheels ? That should be very wild torque-steer . But the Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing limited-slip differential is said to remove all traces of torque-steer . So will this be like the old RS , faster than EVO & STI around tracks . That's what we'll be finding out in 2009.
