New Reveal : 2010 Chevrolet Equinox unveiled ahead of Detroit Auto Show

With Bush's $17.4 million federal aid for GM and Chrysler, it is obvious that they will last through the first months of 2009. That also means GM will attend the Detroit Auto Show and show us new models and perhaps even concepts. Currently there is a rumor that GM will unveil a Volt based Cadillac. For now, we've got this. It's the second generation of the Chevrolet Equinox. For 2010 this little CUV gets a complete redesign from inside-out. So although it's completely redesigned, it looks very similar to the Chevrolet Traverse. And inside, it's inspired by the great interior of the Volt. What’s most important in addition to the new design is better fuel-economy thanks to new direct injected engines. First one is the 2.4L, direct injected 4 cylinder with 182hp that delivers estimated 30 mpg highway and 21 mpg city(old engine fuel economy was 24/17). Second in is the 3.0L DOHC direct injected V6 engine with 255hp, which delivers an estimated 30 mpg on highway and 21 mpg in the city. So this car gives out a great combination of SUVs practicality and high fuel efficiency. 2010 Equinox is available with either all-wheel or front wheel-drive. New Equinox makes its first public debut in Detroit next month, sales will start in middle of 2009.
