Report : Audi R8 Spyder to debut at Frankfurt Motor Show

According to both Auto Motor und Sport and L'Automobile, Audi will be revealing the long-awaited R8 Spyder supercar along with the all-new redesigned A8, and the production A7 Sportback, at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

It's reported that the new convertible R8 Spyder, like the beautiful coupe, will be avalible with two engine options. A standard 420 hp 4.2L FSI V8, and a lamborghini-sourced 525 hp 5.2L FSI V10. Both engines can be fitted to a open-gate 6-speed manual, or a 7-speed S-Tronic twin-clutch transmission. Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard equipment.
