Report : Tesla’s next Roadster will have rear-seating, and all-wheel-drive

California's Tesla automaker has been on a go nowadays. While Tesla's Model S sedan will be built by Tesla on their own platform, the Roadster sportscar is actually based on the Lotus Elise. Well, the next Tesla Roadster, which comes out sometime in 2012 - 2013, will be different.

In an interview with WebRidesTV, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that the next Tesla Roadster, will have 2+2 seating, and will be based on the Model S. Musk said that 2012 - 2013 Roadster will be 10% bigger rear seating and 50% more trunk space, sort of “roomier Porsche.” Musk said that the next Tesla sports car will also come with all-wheel-drive. He said that there will be a base model to a GT version. The GT model should be faster than the current 3.9 seconds to 60 mph Roadster.
