Report : Ford spending $550 million to switch Michigan Plant from trucks to small cars/EV

With the concern of people now changing to the environment, lots and lots of people now prefer to buy a small fuel-efficient hatchback than a huge gas-guzzling truck. Which also means the demand of trucks will plummet.

In fact, Ford just announced that it's investing $550 million in the Michigan Truck Plant, that formerly built the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, to switch it into the the Michigan Assembly Plant, which will be producing the next generation Focus with a very modern fuel-efficient EcoBoost technology, and even a fully-electric version that will debut in 2011.

So while Ford sales have rocketed, they sure are spending that money wisely to generate even more profit.
