New Reveal : Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

At the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes will reveal its new E-Class Coupe. However, Mercedes decided to release its own spy pictures of its all new high-performance car that will replace the beloved SLR, just before the Geneva Motor Show starts. But this car won't be revealed in Geneva, because its not yet ready to be seen for the public. It's called the SLS (previously known as SLC), and it replaces the Mercedes-McLaren SLR. Though, McLaren won't be involved with the SLS, Mercedes in-house tuning company AMG will be behind the engineering of this car.
Despite the covered pictures, Mercedes did give some information about it. The new SLS will weigh 3,571 lbs, a full 300 lbs less than the SLR McLaren. The SLS also rides on a long 105.5-inch wheelbase with a front track that's 1.2 inches wider than the rear. Because it will replace the SLR, the SLS also features the same beautiful and genius Gullwing doors as the SLR and the original and classic 300SL. So this is what Mercedes has done.
What AMG will be doing is filling the SLS with muscles to support those supercar looks. The SLS's engine is bigger than the SLR's engine, but its less powerful. The SLS is powered by AMG's naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8, with 563hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. But thanks to lighter weight and a new “Race Start” launch control, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph.
Mercedes hasn't announced when will it hit showrooms or how much it will cost. So these pictures and information that Merc has given us is just to show that they are coming up with something...fast!
