New Reveal At Geneva : 2010 Renault Clio RS 200; and Renault Megane RS 250

At the Geneva Motor Show, Renault have released the RS (RenaultSport) kit for both the Clio and Megane hatchbacks. The RS bodykit includes front splitter with air-intake, LED daytime running lights, widened sills, rear-diffuser, and black-out 18-inch rims. Inside, the RS package gives bolstered sports seats special Renaultsport steering wheel with thumb grips and aluminum pedals. However, there's a Cup version for both Clio and Megane, and this were it gets serious.
The Clio RS 200 Cup is 36 kg lighter than the RS 200. It also gets stiffer suspension and a lower ride-hieght for better center of gravity to improve handling. That means, the RS 200 Cup gets the full naturally aspirated 200hp 2.0L engine. That means it's faster than the standard model, but beacause it's lighter it results into better CO2 emissions. It is definitely a hot-hatch.
The Megane RS 250 Cup on the other hand is a fire-breathing hatchback. With a turbocharged 2.0L that packs 250hp and 250 lb-ft of torque through a short-shift 6-speed manual gearbox and lighter weight, the RS 250 Cup competes with hatchbacks like the Mazda 3 MPS and Ford Focus RS.
The suspension hasn't changed, but like the other Renaultsport models, the RS 250 is available with one of two sport suspensions. The standard sport chassis provides daily-driver responsiveness for enthusiast drivers, while the more extreme Cup suspension features a limited-slip differential. Both suspensions include revised electronic power steering and a stability control system that's easily disconnected for track days.

So Renault has added sience to their hatchbacks!
