New Reveal At Geneva : 2009 Spyker C8 Aileron

Last year's Geneva show saw the introduction of Spyker's second-generation sports car, in concept form. This year, the car is back in full production, as Spyker prepares for a full upgrade to its lineup.
Ofcourse, Spyker customers are most interest in how the car looks inside-out. And I'm glad to say, they won't be disappointed. The C8 Aileron kept Spyker's signature aircraft influence, from the doors till the roof. This second generation C8 gets new headlights and a front grille that makes it look like a shark, a mean and powerful shark. The hood gets more and more vents. Following the glass roof, the rear-end gets a diffuser like any supercar, because this Spyker is in the supercar territory.
The C8 Aileron is still powered by an Audi 4.2L FSI V8. But with 400hp on tap, the Aileron will hit 187 mph, while 60 mph was gone in 4.5 seconds. These numbers are pretty much similar to the Audi R8 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage. So there's no doubt that this is a supercar.
After weathering some recent financial difficulties, Spyker hopes that the C8 Aileron will help to move the brand forward. That can be seen from the interior, where many customers thought the flat cross steering wheel was too much. Spyker has listen, so Aileron has a more familiar Audi steering wheel. Still, the Aileron still has the "open-air" gear shifter, hand-tuned aluminum dash and classic aeronautical themes that dominate the interior.

The C8 Aileron then, is still the Spyker we all love, it's a fashion accessory. It's much cooler than any Ferrari or Audi supercars.
