American Automaker With Money : Chevrolet spends $370M for new engine plant
After The devastating $15 billion loss months ago , Chevy got a $8.3 billion loan . So now they're spending $370 million on a new 552,000-square foot factory so they could make the 1.4L engine for the Chevy Cruze and Volt . It's nice to know where the money is going and what GM is spending it on . the new engine will get a turbocharger for the Cruze , and non-turbo in the Volt . But the Cruze uses it as the main engine , while in the Volt is just a generator . This engine is expected to get 45MPG . GM will be holding a technical briefing on the new engines shortly . So keep updated at GM's website .
