Video : Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG takes a lap around the Nurburgring

The crew at Motor Trend were invited to the preview drive of the up-coming 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in Germany, and Editor-At-Large, Arthur St. Antoine, got to ride shotgun with Bernd Schneider as the five-time DTM champion. That drive is a hot-lap in the 13-mile long Nurburgring Nordschleife. Motor Trend didn't post the time, but from the video, it seems sometime around 7:45 - 7:50. Though we really have to wait for the official time!

Refresher: 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is powered by a naturally-aspirated and hand-built 6.3L V8 engine; producing 563hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to lighter weight and a new “Race Start” launch control, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph. Official debut of SLS AMG should come to Frankfurt Motor Show, and sales to come in 2010.

Watch the lap in the embedded video below.
