Recently, the latest BMW M5 has been getting lots of kick from rivals from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Lexus. Nonetheless, Jaguar joined the competition with their new 2010 Jaguar XFR. Over the weekend, Top Gear decided to pin the new XFR against the benchmark high-performance sedans, the M5, on Top Gear's test-track. The verdict? Well, we won't spoil the result!Refresher:
- 2010 Jaguar XFR: Powered by a supercharged 5.0L V8, producing 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled to a rear-drive chassis through a 6-speed ZF automatic. 0-60 mph takes 4.5 seconds, and top speed is limited to 155 mph (supposedly!).
- 2009 BMW M5: Powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0L V10, packing 507 hp and 383 lb-ft of toque. Power is channeled to a rear-drive chassis through a 7-speed SMG automated-manual transmission. 60 mph launch is covered in 4.8 seconds, and top speed is limited to 175 mph.
