Report: Porsche Panamera Turbo laps Nurburgring in 7:56; beats Cadillac CTS-V by 3 Seconds!

It seems the Americans have had their good-times around Germany's Nurburgring Nordschleife too long. The earlier report, showed Nissan's updated 2010 GT-R lapping the famous 13-mile 'Ring around in 7:26.7; embarrassing Chevrolet Corvette ZR1's time of 7:26.4. Now Porsche wants their go against GM.

Although Porsche's 911 GT2 still can't match-up with ZR1's Nurburgring time, Porsche aimed to clear off Cadillac's supercharged 6.2 CTS-V time of 7:59.3; which crowed the 556 hp CTS-V as "The fastest V8 sedan in the world!". Nonetheless, Porsche has just launched its Panamera in a 500 hp Turbo model.

According to the official Nurburgring lap records, the Porsche Panamera Turbo with the Sports Chrono package, just posted a Nurburgring lap time of 7:56, beating the CTS-V by 3 seconds! So now, the fastest V8 sedan around the 'Ring is that 5-door weird-looking Panamera.

Refresher: Porsche Panamera Turbo is powered by a turbocharged 4.8L V8, porducing 500 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Connected to a 7-speed PDK transmission, and equipped with Sports Chrono package, Panamera Turbo reaches 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, with a top speed of 188 mph.
