SPY SHOTS : Hyundai concept caught on the streets ahead of NY debut -- UPDATE

It's not usual for a totally concept car being snap-shotted on the streets. But that's exactly what happened to this Hyundai concept hatchback. It was supposed only to be shown at next week's New York Auto Show, but a blog reader spotted this on the street, and took pictures. According to the photographer, this was definitely a Hyundai as the car had a Hyundai logo at the back.

Pictures were only taken from a profile view. However, that's not such a bad thing. Because this looks great in-profile. As this concept surely has some concept features like the big wheels and giant gullwing doors, there's some elements in the exterior that give the sense that it could be a production car someday. Look at those "L-shaped" tail-lights, and the overall body indeed make it a futuristic looking car, but in a very production like way. It certainly is dramatic, and hints at a possible design direction for a future-generation crossover by Hyundai.
UPDATE: Well after seeing the pictures on the world-wide inter web, Hyundai decided to tease the waiters with this picture above. Turns out that this concept hatch is called Nuvis, and designed at the company's California Design Center in Irvine, California. Await the NY Auto Show next week for further information.
