New Reveal At NY : 2010 Land Rover Discovery 4

Along with the 2010 Range Rover, this is the Discovery 4 - LR4. The new Discovery also receives a mild facelift, and a new interior. Land Rover have also fitted a new twin-turbo diesel engine, and improved the handling overall.
The new exterior design of the 2010 Discovery is actually inspired by the bigger sibling, the Range Rover. Although this is a serious off-road SUV, Land Rover got rid of the hard edges and dark plastics. To add, this Discovery gets revised headlights and taillights now feature LED technology. While there are also new 19-inch wheels, there's a new 10-spoke 20-inch wheel is available as a factory option for the first time.
Land Rover have presented a new interior that is nearly identical to the new 2010 Range Rover for the new 2010 Discovery. The new centre console is now inclined towards the driver, the new steering wheel has revised switch layout, and new seats are added as well. Also, new are the 5-inch TFT screens in the instrument cluster displaying key information and a new Portable Audio Interface with MP3 player and i-Pod connectivity. However, it doesn't get the new 12-inch screen like the Range Rover.
Engine line-up is still the same with a V6 and V8 petrol. But for the diesel engine, Land Rover replaced the 2.7 twin-turbo Jaguar diesel engine, with Jaguar's all-new 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6. It packs 245 hp and a massive 442 lb-ft of torque. With an updated ZF HP28 6-speed automatic transmission, the new diesel engine will hit 60 mph in 9.0 seconds, which is respectable of a diesel-powered heavy off-road SUV that can tow up to 3.5 tons. Nonetheless, the new diesel unit gets better fuel consumption by 9% compared to the previous diesel Discovery. So in all means, there's nothing in true mountain off-roading that is near this.
Because the Discovery has a heavy double-cache system, Land Rover tweaked the vehicle dynamics on and off-road by retuning the suspension, adding larger brakes and revising the Terrain Response and Hill Descent Control systems.

Check for the new Discovery 4 this summer.
