Ford has unveiled its third “iosis” concept car prior to its Geneva Motor Show debut. Continuing its ‘kinetic design’ philosophy the new Ford Iosis Max Concept hints at Ford’s vision of a future compact MAV (multi-activity vehicle) and hints at the future design direction of Ford’s next global C-cars. We have to say, it looks much better than the Lincoln Concept C that we saw at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.
Power comes from the same 1.6L 4-cylinder EcoBoost seen earlier in the Lincoln Concept C. It produces a total of 180hp and delivers fuel-economy that is 20% better than the convention gasoline engine. The engine will be mated to a new line of Ford fuel-saving technologies including Ford’s PowerShift transmission and its new Auto-Start-Stop system that is due for production in 2010
Ford will pull Iosis Max Concept into production as the next generation Focus. So it will make its way to the North American market. For a Focus, this looks fabulous, and with the EcoBoost engine it'll drive as it looks. Just imangine a RS version of this!
