SPY SHOTS : 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS prototype spied winter-testing

It's been long since we featured a spy shot. But now we got a new one! Here's spy shots of the new 2011 Mercedes CLS. Current generation of Mercedes CLS has been on the market since 2004, and it started the 4-door coupe segment. With a lot of competition coming in, it is time for the second generation to step in.
We actually saw some spy shots of the new CLS prototype before. But the previous pictures only showed the rear of the car. These pictures give a good sight of the rest of the sides look like.
Speculations that the new CLS will be based on S-Class or stretched E-Class platform. Either way it will be positioned below S-Class.
From the pictures, it seems that the new CLS sits lower and the rear window is much bigger for improved visibility.
Engine line-up will surely include V6 and V8 engines. Top of the model AMG will likely include a 550+hp 6.3L V8. A hybrid model should be in the works, too. By the time new CLS arrives it will go against the Audi A7, Lamborghini Estoque Porsche Panamera, and Aston Martin Rapide.
