A while back,
Car Magazine got sketches of McLaren's new supercar, the P11. Well now, we give you live photos of it. So when McLaren and Mercedes are almost done with jointly produced McLaren-Mercedes SLR, each company can go by their own with their own supercar project. This wedge-shaped mid-engine rear-wheel McLaren supercar codenamed P11 will go against the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430.
So unlike the legandary McLaren F1, which was a dream car that no one could ever own because it costs over a million dollars, this P11 is set to be more down-to-earth. That means, the P11 will probably hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds and reach out at 200 mph.
Power will come very likely from a mid-mounted 6.2L V8 AMG engine. Power is expected to be around 550hp. Superior braking will be handled by ceramic brakes. P11 weighs around 2,650 lbs (1200 kg) thanks to carbon fiber chassis and body.
McLaren P11 will go on sale very likely beginning of 2010 with a price tag around $200,000 -$300,000.
