Steve Saleen announces 2010 Signature Series Mustangs

When each generation of Mustangs comes along, Steve Saleen gets his hand on tuning them. Steve Saleen's new company, SMS Supecars, has just announced that it'll be working on the all-new 2010 Mustang.

A man like Saleen, will first tune the engine, and he did. The 4.6L V8 will first be tuned to 475hp, and can reach up to 650hp. That's such amazing power for a car with a live axle rear suspension. However, SMS Supercars announced that they'll be tuning the drive-train to handle all the stallions. No official numbers yet, but we expect this 'Stang can hit 60mph in the low 4-second range.

There aren't any pictures of the Saleen Mustang yet, but SMS will be adding an aerodynamic kit for the body. Along with the kit, this Saleen Mustang will feature track wheels, which helps the Mustang handle. They also announced that they'll be giving the interior an "up-scale" look.

Production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2009, same time as the SMS 5.7 Challenger. So although American cars are dangered species right now, but Saleen keeps working on them. Good job Saleen!
