Lexus nowadays is aiming towards high-performance rather than absolute luxury quietness. Look at the IS-F, Lexus's first attempt to make a super sedan, and it's already a hot fighter against its rivals- BMW M3, Mercedes C63 AMG and Audi RS4.Rumors that Lexus may extend the F range to the GS and the LS. So they could compete with the high-performance German luxury brands. Like the IS-F, which Lexus called it a BMW M3 killer, the GS is supposed to thrash the BMW M5. Reports suggest that the rumored GS-F will probably have a 5.0L V10 with at least 500hp. As for the supposed LS-F, rumors that it'll have the same V10 powerplant, but with more power.
So are these rumors true? Well, we have to wait and see. But it all comes down to this, if consumers are accepting the idea of a high-performance Lexus like the IS-F, then other models will surely follow.
