Last week, Honda announced that they'll be pulling out of Formula One next season. Today, comes more bad news from Honda. They announced that they'll cancel the development of the V10-powered NSX. It's all down to the global economic downturn.
It was expected to arrive beginning of 2010 under Acura brand in the US and as a Honda in Europe. This past summer when Honda was testing the car in Germany, it was doing impressive lap times on the famous Nürburgring. There were even speculations that it is just a matter of time when the NSX laps the ring faster than Nissan's GT-R.
As all development has been stopped there is still some hope. If Honda’s sales and financial situation improves, then there is a very high chance that the project will continue.
V10 powered NSX with 560hp would have been the perfect answer to Nissan’s GT-R and other high-performance supercars. So this car is already a legend before it came out to life. What a triumph Honda!
