According to these spy pictures, Audi is preparing a racing version of its R8. Infact, Audi decided racing in the GT3 racing sires. So this is an Audi R8 GT3 race car. This car is specifically developed for customers use in the form of the powerful 4.2L V8 with 500 hp which will be available from autumn 2009. All this power is sent to the rear wheels via sequential sport six–speed gearbox (GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive).
Spotted at the 'Ring, this R8 with a gigantic spoiler, did a lap at the 13-mile track in 8:41 minutes. Although we can see from the pictures that the track is damp and wet, so surely it can be faster.
