Report : Audi S5 to drop V8 for supercharged V6, S6 to drop V10 for twin-turbo V8.

According to Inside Line, Audi is going cylinder lobbing for both the S5 and S6.
First off, Audi will be swapping the traditional 4.2L V8, with a 3.0L supercharged V6,found in the new 2010 S4. Also, horsepower will go down from 354hp to 333hp, but just like the S4, the new engine will have more torque from lower RPMs. So the new V6 catches up with the current V8. However, because the new engine will be considerably lighter than the current V8, expect 30% improvement in fuel economy.
Other rumors saying that both the S6 and S8 super sedans will also have a couple of cylinders cut-off. They will drop from a 435hp V10, into a twin-turbo 4.2L V8. Expect horsepower to jump by atleast 30hp, and even more torque.
