A couple of days ago , VW revealed the new MK6 Golf GTI . And despite being an all new car , it seems that very little has changed .Maybe because they're working on more important stuff for the Golf .Well , some reports say that the will be 2 more variants for the Golf .
First , a GTI diesel (GTD) . It'll feature the same 2.0L turbo , but because it'll be working on diesel , that means less horsepower and more torque . So 170hp and 260lb-ft of torque is expected . This car will hit production in April 2009 .
Second , a successor to the R32 . And they'll be calling it the R42 . Now , you'll be having the impression that this will have the 4.2L V8 . But that wrong . Number 4 here stands for 4th generation . But the rumors are suggesting that it'll have the same 2.5L 5 cylinder in the standard Golf . But with added turbo , it'll jump to 350 stallions . This engine is also rumored to be fitted to the Audi TT-RS and the RS3 . Expect the hotness of R42 to roll the streets in November 2009 . So for now , you have to play with the GTI.
