New Reveal : 2009 Stile Bertone Mantide Porject

The well known Italian designer and Coach builder Stile Bertone has appointed a designer Jason Castriota to create a one-off supercar. The 2009 Stile Bertone Mantide, which is a supercar design project based on a Corvette.Mantide has a futuristic design that draws inspiration from modern aerospace and the world of Formula One. Some of the key design elements are the low-slung nose, jet fighter style teardrop canopy and butterfly opening doors, as well as the numerous air inlets and exhausts for maximum air efficiency. So while the vents sticking out of it may not look elegant or smooth, they certainly make the Mantide a monster. The Stile Bertone Mantide is actually based on the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which is now the halo American supercar. However, thanks to the shape and vents on the Mantide; not only is this 100 kg lighter, but a lot aerodynamic than a ZR1, which make it seriously fast. The 640 hp 6.2L LS9 supercharged V8 will get it from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, and the Mantide will top out at 217 mph!For the time being, the Mantide is just a show-off supercar. That means it probably won't hit production. However, according to Stile Bertone, the Mantide will go on a “world tour” to travel major auto events.
