Because the concept received high praise and huge positive feedback, Citroen decided to build 20 limited units only. “We are now thinking of a limited run, possibly as many as 20 units,” Besson told the press.
In concept form, the Citroen GT was intended to be hydrogen-powered. But since hydrogen-powered cars are still in their first generation and not powerful enough, Besson also announced that Citroen GT will be powered by a more production-like V8, from either Ford or GM. With American V8 power, and European design, expect the Citroen GT to reach 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, and top out at around 200 mph.
