RumorMill : Ford to reveal "another chapter in the Mustang story" in Detroit, possibly a Boss 5.0L V8 !

We were all excited when the all-new 2010 Ford Mustang was debuted at the LA Auto Show last week. However, some people were disappointed that Ford hasn't changed much with the Mustang in terms of the drive-train. Never-the-less, we watched Speed TV's unveiling of the Mustang, were they interviewed Mark Fields, the Executive Vice President of Ford. And he said that Ford "will reveal yet another chapter in the Mustang story" at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show in January.

With that said, rumors about Mustang's "next chapter" have flooded the news board. Some rumors say that it'll be just customization kits for both V6 and GT models. Others suggest it'll be the Shelby GT500 Mustang. A third possibility is an all-new variant of the Mustang, most likely a concept that would later come to a production version. However, Mark Field's wording seems to hint at something all new and a new motor. So some speculate that it's most likely to be a Boss Mustang with a 400hp 5.0L V8 and a manual gearbox, to compete with its deadliest rivals. So yes, the 5.0L V8 rumor is back! We just have to wait until January to find out.
