New Reveal : 2010 Ford Fusion

For any company to get into the mid-size sedan market , their cars have to look good , fit the families fittings and never break down. The current Ford Fusion didn't cut the chase. It was never good-looking as Chevrolet Malibu ,nor it is as big as the Toyota Camry and its engine isn't as good as the Honda Accord.

However now , Ford is preparing a new Fusion. And as you can see from the picture above , it looks brilliant. No sedan these days is as sexy as this. The new headlights, bulging hood and Ford's new shape chrome grill , all give it a futuristic look.

Ford also has to change the engines , because the current Fusion's engine isn't as powerful as the engines in its Japanese rivals. The base model will include Ford's brand-new Duratec 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit that delivers an output of 175HP and 172 lb.-ft. of torque, 14HP more and 16 more lb.-ft. of torque than the preceding year's 2.3-liter unit. The 3.0-liter V6 engine has been reworked producing 19HP more and 23 more lb.-ft. of torque than before for a total of 240HP and 228 lb.-ft. of torque while for 2010, there's also a new 263HP 3.5-liter V6 engine. All of the engines are connected to a new 6-speed automatic transmission , which improves the fuel efficiency by 10% from the current model.
Inside, Ford didn't show any pictures of the interior. But they did show off there new concept of gauge, it's called SmartGauge Technology. The SmartGauge includes a speed-o-meter and 2 LCD screens which are connected to the car's on-board computer. So it shows you RPM, fuel gauge, battery gauge, temperature gauge and a new MPG gauge. Also , the SmartGauge Technology gives out instructions on how to maximize the best fuel efficiency.

Look for the new Fusion in dealers first quarter of 2009.
